South porch and aisle of Gedney hill holy trinity village church in Lincolnshire
When wandering around the churches in the Fens you would think the Fens is covered in wonderful large old trees but sadly the churches are the only places you will find old trees. most others have been cut down to make way for agriculture.

on June 21, 2018Funny this i don't touch them, why i don't know.
Junya Otsuka
on June 21, 2018do you try and touch the stones when you visit churches? old, old stones, which would have been touched by medieval people.
g
on June 15, 2018I never noticed the stule of brick until i got home, then read about the nave was restored heavily.
Junya Otsuka
on June 15, 2018looking this church around, you felt only the tower was really old?
Junya Otsuka
on June 15, 2018it was written that the tower was first built in the 14th century, and remodelled in the 15th century.
g
on June 15, 2018Ok cool, on the aisle building, i gather the tower is 13 o 14th?
Junya Otsuka
on June 15, 2018these old looking beautiful stones seem to be all 19th century thing.

on June 15, 2018No i don't think its Norman tbh, my mistake there but one that proves i,m no pro at architecture info. i thought the square tower was Norman but think i was wrong..
yes the stones are massive.
Junya Otsuka
on June 15, 2018this church doesnt feel like Norman, but it feels here and there pretty much thick and massive, like Norman (Romanesque) churches.
Junya Otsuka
on June 15, 2018these rectangular ashlar stones feel so heavy. the wall that consists of them feel massive and hard. they look just like the stones i saw on the stone structures in games like castlevania.
